I can’t help but wonder what tomb do I stay in? Do I stay in a tomb of anger, resentment and bitterness? Do I stay bound by jealousy, indulgence, competition and comparison? Probably. Jesus left the tomb. People filled His tomb with all those things. There was the anger that He would be trying to teach a new law of love and acceptance. There was resentment that this lowly man, a child born out of wedlock, claimed to be the messiah. This was no king, He was no conqueror! Men of power and indulgence did not want that taken away, they loved their high position and places of honor. All of those things put Jesus in the grave. But then….
HE ROSE FROM THAT GRAVE!
“Don’t be afraid, because I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified. He is not here. For he has risen, just as he said.”
Matt. 28:5-6
Jesus defeated death. His resurrection lets us know that we will never have to be apart from God. We will live with Him in perfection and we will be reunited with all that have gone before us. But….
Jesus also defeated the death that life can bring.
“A thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come so that they may have life and have it in abundance.”
John 10:10
The tomb is no place for life. Don’t stay there. Come out of the tomb into the light and love of Jesus. Understand that Jesus defeated your tomb and wants you to have LIFE…today and every day. Jesus loves you. He loves your past and your future. He died so that you don’t have to wait to live, he wants you to be among the living TODAY,
